Mr. Gillis' practice focuses on real property taxation and appellate litigation. For more than twenty years, Mr. Gillis has managed our extensive real estate taxation department and appears regularly before numerous county boards of revision, the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, numerous Ohio Courts of Appeal and the Ohio Supreme Court.
NOTABLE ENGAGEMENTS
Mr. Gillis has successfully represented more than fifty Ohio school districts in obtaining increases in real estate value and defending against reductions in real estate value before Boards of Revision, The Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, numerous Ohio Courts of Appeal and the Ohio Supreme Court where Mr. Gillis has been involved in more than 200 cases.
Mr. Gillis has also represented numerous County Auditors as well as property owners. The type of properties involved include class-A downtown and suburban office buildings, hotels, regional malls, shopping centers, sports arenas, apartment complexes, nursing homes, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, retail facilities, warehouses, single family homes and vacant land.
